The Laboratory of Ablation, Laser Cleaning and Restoration at the Optical Research Center in La Plata invites interested parties to apply for a scholarship to carry out doctoral or master’s studies on Characterization and Processing of Materials by Laser Ablation.
The call is aimed at graduate students in Physics, Chemistry or Engineering who are not older than 35 years old. During their stay they will develop and apply laser ablation methods to characterize superficial coverings of different thicknesses, as a result of a controlled treatment or unwanted consequences, such as dirt, oxide, remains, pollutants, etc. They will work with photonic devices such as high-frequency pulsed lasers and short-duration pulses, optical fibers, spectrometers, charge-coupled device cameras (CCD), photodiodes and other optical and acoustic detection systems and other techniques such as Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) and Laser Ablation Induced Photoacoustics.
