The Physics Faculty of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile invites applications for a full-time post-doctoral position for three years in the Anillo project “Nanoevidence for High Precision Measurements in Biology and Nanostructured Materials for Biomedicine”.
Candidates should have a doctorate in Experimental Physical Sciences or a similar qualification and have the desire to join a multidisciplinary group, whose goal is to implement techniques from physics in the development of sensors applied to biology and the development of bio-compatible materials.
Candidates should also have skills relating to the development of experimental techniques, such as optical spectroscopy and the manipulation of lasers. The ability to make devices and to program, for example, using Metlab or LabView, are also requirements for the application.
Among the responsibilities of the candidates will be the conducting of independent research and the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students’ work.
