Researchers from CEFOP-UdeC took Llico

* In October, the cycle of scientific workshops “Light and sustainable aquaculture” began, where researchers of our Center are involved with different activities for 8th grade students of different schools in Arauco, a small coastal city.

LLICO 1Researchers from our Center, Doctors Juan Pablo Staforelli, Rodrigo Fuentes and Esteban Sepúlveda, and the PhD student Pablo González, initiated their participation with the presentation of “Photons go to school” and a talk concerning the use of light in everyday life during the cycle of scientific workshops titled “Light and sustainable aquaculture”, an activity organized by the INCAR Center, CEFOP-UdeC, Liceo Filidor Gaete Monsalve of Llico and CICAT.

Students from schools in Brisas del Mar of Tubul ; Jorge Valenzuela Zuniga of Punta Cuatro; San Pedro de Laraquete and Liceo Filidor Gaete Monsalve of Llico, will all benefit from this program that includes theoretical and practical workshops, a scientific tour of the University of Concepción and CICAT, in addition to a science fair where the organizing Centers will share their work.LLICO 4

The last week of October, more than 100 students who are participating in this experience will travel to the University of Concepción to visit our laboratories, the oceanography department, the Pinacoteca and finally the Museum of Natural history.
